*Check In 9/26/22

One thing that I will always write in my journal is something I call a, "Check In." It consists of one paragraph of something on my mind that day, one thing I love about myself, and five things I am grateful for that day. The first paragraph is meant to be a quick blurb, but nothing I could elaborate on its own. If something is heavy on my mind I will write a whole page on that topic. If it's really bad, two pages. "Something I love about myself," is a little thing I started because I fully believe that if I see something good in myself, someone else might see it too and love me for it. That sounds shallow, but think of it as a "if I love this about myself, someone else might too. I am loveable."

With that being said, here is my current check in!

I have a hard time keeping up with my hobbies. I constantly start new things and I'm not consistent. I started using this Habit Tracker app to keep up with smaller things in my daily routine. On that app I have things such as: journaling, skincare routine, drinking a certain amount of water, meditating for a minimum of 5 minutes, and stretching. Eventually, I want to start adding in bigger things. I want to add in to do something for Baby Sis Thrift twice a week, go to the gym, getting proper sleep, less screen time, making sure I eat proper meals, and days where I don't drink caffeine. I'm only doing the smaller things because these are small things that will help out in the long run. They are simple building blocks, a stable foundation for the bigger things I want to accomplish weekly. So far, it has been going well. I am currently sitting at an 88% success rate at keeping up with these little habits. Better than I expected!

Something I love about myself: I love that I find time everyday to be with myself, in my own energy. It comes in the form of doing my makeup, doing a skin care routine, or making little meals. I love that I do simple things that make me happy in the slightest, even if I don't realize it.

Things I'm grateful for:

  1. Getting lots of rest today. I was feeling very sleepy almost all day and I'm glad I got to take it easy today.

  2. Having food at home.

  3. Having access to clean drinking water.

  4. Having the means and supplies to take care of my eczema. I'm grateful that I'm able to do what I can to help my flareups.

  5. Having my own space to myself. My room is probably my favorite place to be at.
